In January we did a very cold walk at Winnekenni Castle in Haverhill. I would have loved a few of these spicy sweet Limoncello Candied Ginger Scones to eat on the drive home, that’s for sure.

In early January we went back for a third time to Halibut Point. It was a cold but beautiful day and this is definitely a park for year round enjoyment. Plus I’m sharing a memory of a toboggan, a childhood idea for a sled jump, and the unhappy ending to that story!
Making a special dessert for Christmas in 2020 brought back so many memories of life in the business world back in the 80s and 90s, and memories of “business lunches” in and around Boston. We’ve hiked in Lexington 3+ times in the past 12 months. After our most recent hike on New Year’s Weekend, I realize why. It’s the perfect spot for a hike, whether alone, with friends or with family, any time of the year.
A few weeks ago we hiked at Breakheart Reservation. If you grew up north of Boston, perhaps you remember this park? It’s had some upgrades and is a perfect place to hike pretty much any time of the year! Did it have a fountain when you went there?
When plans don’t go according to plan, we make the best of it. New hiking boots and an incredible steak and mushroom sauce dinner replaced our trip to Castle Hill last night. It was a good evening after all!
